National Wildlife Refuge Week, observed the second full week of October each year, celebrates the great network of lands and waters that conserves and protects Americans’ precious wildlife heritage. In 2026, National Wildlife Refuge Week occurs October 10-17.

Join us as we kick off a new season and the 30th year of our Organization.
Tuesday November 17, 5:00 – 7:00pm
Venue: Lower Keys Chamber of Commerce, 31020 Overseas Highway, MM31, Big Pine Key
Open to the public. Attendance is free. RSVP is required.
Full Moon Kayak Excursions

This kayak excursion takes place in the waters surrounding the National Key Deer Refuge in Big Pine Key and surrounding areas. Beginning at the Old Wooden Bridge Marina, 1791 Bogie Road, Big Pine Key, kayaking across the water to No Name Key and north.

Plan to arrive about 30 minutes early at the Old Wooden Bridge Marina, 1791 Bogie Road, Big Pine Key. Bring flashlight and water. No experience necessary.
