Full Moon Kayak Excursions

This kayak excursion takes place in the waters surrounding the National Key Deer Refuge in Big Pine Key and surrounding areas. Beginning at the Old Wooden Bridge Marina, 1791 Bogie Road, Big Pine Key, kayaking across the water to No Name Key and north.

Plan to arrive about 30 minutes early at the Old Wooden Bridge Marina, 1791 Bogie Road, Big Pine Key. Bring flashlight and water. No experience necessary.

WINTER / SPRING 2024 : A lecture and outdoors program

Wild and Wonderful Florida Keys 

Starting January 2024 – a great opportunity for members of the community to learn more about the Refuge, the Wildlife Society, the Nature Center and the flora, fauna and outdoors of the Florida Keys. Monthly evening lectures are planned from January to April covering topics that include astronomy, entomology, birding, and wildlife photography. Evening lectures will be held in the Florida Keys National Wildlife Refuges Nature Center, 30587 Overseas Highway, Big Pine Key. For those who might enjoy being outdoors, a number of daytime guided nature walks are planned within the National Key Deer Refuge. These walks will feature native plant identification and bird watching.

Lectures: Florida Keys National Wildlife Refuges Nature Center, 30587 Overseas Highway, Big Pine Key

Time: All evening lectures start at  6.30pm.  Followed by social time, Q&A , complimentary food and refreshments.  Ends 8.00pm.

All daytime activities start at 8.30am, end 9.30am.  Locations vary but all will be within the National Key Deer Refuge, Big Pine Key. More details will be provided closer to the date.
